Snake bite

Yesterday, while my brother's girlfriend was holding my bp she was bitten on the arm. She was sitting still while it happened and we had to peel his mouth off with a pensil. This is the first time he has bitten anyone. She was scared more than anything and it only left a small red mark on her arm, which was washed and sterilized.
I got him about 2 years ago and since he is fully grown, I've been feeding him 1 f/t rat every 2 weeks rather than every week. I have been doing this for about 4 months. He has always been an eager feeder and has never turned down a meal. Could this agressive behavior be from a lack of food?
I think I will hold him myslef for a while as I can better read his body language and can tell when he is about to strike and see if he becomes agressive again. And advice would be appreciated.

Im far from a expert but do u track his weight to see if he is losing weight. One of my friends has a bp that always seems to be hungry.Maybe it was just a familiar smell?Also any info on snakes size would help.

Sometimes it just happens. She mightve spooked him, she couldve smelled like prey. One bite isnt automatically aggressive behavior, BPs strike and bite out of defense more than anything. A bite here and there is an inherent risk when dealing with snakes. Pony it up to experience and move on.

I dont really know if he's been losing weight, I don't have a scale. I'm not too worried about the bite, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't and indication of underfeeding.
After all was said and done it was pretty funny. She was scared of the snake to begin with. After about 5 mins of her holding it my brother and I heard her scream. We turned around and saw the snake latched onto her arm. She didn't stop sreaming until we got it off and back into the cage. She was pretty cool about it (much) later, though.
