So, I got a computer in to fix in the office. I did some general cleaning and fixing of the OS but it was still rather slow, so I checked (after all my OS optimizations had been done) the memory usage, and the PageFile size was 244MB and the usable mem on the system was 245MB.
There's my issue, it's dumping mem constantly. So I shut the PC down, and was going to check if I had any around the office to add to the system, but I needed to first see what kind to look for. I opened it up, made it through the dust to the sticks. I noticed that one wasn't clipped in, so I tried to press it into place but it was a no-go. I pulled it out along with the other stick and this is what I found.
That is the dirt, that is my shoe, and ... what is wrong with the picture? Anyone?
TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEMORY! I hope she didn't pay someone to do this ... that is insane. Memory clips in, and that one was even to the untrained eye not clipped in. This is a first for me .. who did this? WHY WAS THIS DONE! After whoever placed it in there felt it was not seated, why did they place the panel back on and leave it in the slot?!?!?
Sigh .. love my job.
