problem with my 3 year old ball
Just recently, he has had really flakey skin on his back.
Is there something specific that can cause this?
We have 2 balls, a baby (jeffery) and our 3 year old (monty). They live together very nicely, in a 55 (i think) gallon tank.
We were using aspen bedding until very recently, when a friend recommended newspaper.
We use a zoomed heating pad for their heated side, which is usually kept around 85-90 degrees...the cooler side is usually between 70-80 degrees.
Any info would be very much appreciated...we love them and would be sad if anything happened to them!
thanks!

perhaps a stuck shed?
also you might want to rethink them living nicely together
if monty is a boy and jeffery is a boy they will fight and if monty is a girl and jeff is a boy they could breed leaving you with surprise eggs or an undersized snake becoming egg bound. also this will cause stress for both animals

I can't seem to get one showing the flakies. I've taken several, but none of them will show it.

well its real hard to say for sure without a pic, but skin that didnt shed completely hence stuck shed.
if i was you i would seriously consider separating them because a 55g tank isnt a proper cage for a baby nor should any snakes share the same cage unless for breeding
