    On and off

So i aquired two females back in April, at the time they were off feed and so i tried several times and neither would eat. So i wnet to a every three or four day schedule of at least offering food, they both were on live and i tried a mixture of F/T and live. Finally on July 22 they both took two small rats..

    Female A
    4/8 1515 grams
    7/19 1380 grams
    8/12 1544 grams

So this female went back on feed at 7/22 and has done great eating ever since then. 7/22 128 g rat, 8/5 162 g rat, 8/15 90 g rat, 8/22 220 g rat

    Female B
    4/8 1200 g
    7/19 1079 g
    8/11 1144 g

This female started off feed and the same schedule was followed as withe Female A then on 7/22 she took a 134g rat.... then had a fecal on 8/5 and has shown no interest since then.

My question is is this type of thing normal? Is it normal for a snake that is off feed to go back and then go off agian. The room temp sits at 84 degrees with the front of the tub sitting at 83-85 degrees and the back temp is around 90-93 degrees, this is a tub system.

    Thanks for your thoughts

Yea, mine do it all the time. Just buy a boa or burm to feed off the un-used rats

Start offering food every 10-14 days, and pre-scent the room for about 30 minutes prior to offering food.
Once they are eating regularly ease into a 7 day feeding schedule.

    Also,try offering smaller rats, maybe around 90g - 120g.
I have some that will take a 275+g medium rat, while others don't want anything to do with anything over 120g.

Same thing with my adult. Anything over about 200g just becomes tank decoration for the night. I normally feed him 100-150g size rats every 7 days... good luck

I thought the general rule was to feed about 10-15% of body weight?
