wooT! fishing trip coming up!

I got a call from a new friend today inviting me to go with him on a 3 day musky fishing trip to leech lake in MN! I'm SO excited!! And the best part is that the fishing doesn't end there, the day we get back I take a flight to alaska to go salmon fishing with my dad!

This is going to be the best 2 weeks ever.

We did alright, I only boated one fish but it was a 48''er!



This fish got me entered into a raffle for prizes, and I ended up winning a very nice fishing reel! That was exciting! Good times were had, lots of beer was enjoyed, and I met lots of new people.

Now I'm in AK and leave to go fishing this Tuesday! Wish me as much luck as I had musky fishin'!

And now alaska pictures!! We ended up harvesting 24 silver salmon and releasing 4 steelhead in 4 days in Cordova. We could have kept the steelhead, and we limited on salmon all 4 days, so it was a great trip

We didn't do any other fishing than the 4 days in Cordova because we had more than enough to feed the family after that trip, finished filling up their freezer nicely!

My dad caught the biggest fish of the trip, a silver weighing in at 13-15 lbs(I'd guess closer to 13).

My dad and I brought a small charcoal grill to cook up dinner one night, we shared a salmon fillet, grilled corn, some wine, followed by smores for dessert! We got to enjoy the scenery while eating:

I'm back home in MN now, enjoying the company of my crested geckos while my snake chows down on a rat. I love fishing, but this is pretty darn nice too
