    Talking Foschi Exotic BP's GREETINGS!!

So ive been on here for just a little bit but ive never introduced my self. My name is Monica. My collection is only 4 BP's so far but im in the process of purchasing more.

I chose the name Foschi Exotic BP's to honor my dad's memory.

My big female "Thunder" is 6 yrs old and ive had her since her first meal. She cost me an arm & a leg to save her life (thank you Dr Bray) since she was an import and i was not aware of this until her original mate suddenly died with no symptoms just weeks after bringing them home.

I then ran into some financial issues, not to mention physical (serious car accident) which put my life on hold for a few years.

Back in 03 i had to re-home all my pets due to the accident and losing my ability to work for a couple years. But my pretty girl Thunder was carted around by a friend who was determined to help me keep her. I finally got her back in my home with me and started to rebuild my life and my collection.

Prior to the accident i had birds, blue rats, fancy mice, an albino burm, 2 kenyan sand boas, a columbian red tail, a dog, 2 cats, a tarantula, a scorpian..

Oh there has been more.. But now im trying to concentrate on just my BP's

So the name is a new one you havent heard of before but ive had animals of all kinds my entire life. 32years. The BP's im looking to purchase right now to build my breeding stock are quality morphs. I have all my snakes fully vetted at least once now. No matter where they come from..

In the near future you should be seeing more of me. Im honest and knowledgable when it come to all animals but im still learning the genetics of all the new BP morphs since i was out of the circuit for so long.

I will remain a small time breeder because all my animals are my pets and treated as such. With one-on-one attention. I will never have hundreds of snakes just for breeding. Its my hobby and one of my passions. Anything offerd by me in the future will be guaranteed healthy and well started.

I do not remove babies from eggs and i do not cut eggs before the first pip. I pay as much attention to detail as i can. I hope to get some nice morphs with the collection im slowly building.

I may ask questions from time to time so hopefully everyone is as helpful as i try to be toward people..

Take the time to check out my myspace page as well. I have about 45 BP & herps breeders on my friends list. Some big breeders. Some hobbiests like me. Feel free to add me if you are a breeder.

So here i am Saying HELLO!

Red face Re:Foschi Exotic BP's GREETINGS!! Pictures!

Ok i found the gallery!! I put up a few pictures but most of them are bad quality. My 03 female just shed today so this week i'll take her outside for some better pics of her. I also know i need to get some belly shots up of her. I have a new camera ive been playing around with so hopefully i can get some good daylight shots of these guys to do them some justice.

SO for those of you who would like to see my snakes so far, just keep an eye out this week and i'll defiantely post some more..

By the way. I just got pegged by my little "Bella" the other night! For a 3 month old she sure has some attitude! And one heck of a feeding response too! I had to laugh when she bit me since i was not watching her when i went to take out her water bowl. That makes 2 in my lifetime. The first bite was by an 8 ft Albino Burm i had years ago. Again, it was his feeding response and thus my fault, but MAN did that one hurt! Left my hand bruised for over a week.

So just wacth for more pics i'll be adding to my gallery soon. TC!

Just saw your gallery pics. Grats on your hatchlings this season. Sorry to hear that you lost a few due to incubator issues. I lost three last season due to a power outage... They all seem to be doing good this year. Three more clutches due to hatch within the next two weeks.

What happened was the incubator decided to malfunction the moment i started using it for this clutch (never buy used!!) so i resorted to maternal incubation (never again!). Had to tuen the entire tank into a big incubator. Had no problem keeping the temp exact the entire time. The problem was she refused to let the eggs touch the bedding. She hollowed out a hole down to the glass & didn't come off the eggs not even once.

So even with many inches of a good moisture holding bedding & a hygrometer reading at least 90% the entire time, she was actually keeping the eggs too dry by staying so tightly coiled around them.

I had 5 good, huge, bright white eggs. But 3 started to collapse just a month into it. After the first pip i removed them to a seperate, smaller tank set up at the right temp & humidity. 2 of the babies died in the egg prematurally. They appeared almost fully developed. The 3rd one came out too soon & never absorbed the yolk. He was a runt and died shortly after. So i only had the 2 i have pictured left.

I learned a valuable lesson from it. Sometimes a snake can be TOO good of a mother for maternal incubation. She also developed egg sores for refusing to move off the eggs. Im guessing it will be a few more sheds before the scars from that come off completely. Im lucky i got what i got. But this year will be very different. No more maternal incubation!
