    Thumbs up Ordered my rack!

Sooooo... I finally went ahead and ordered a rack, since I couldn't figure out how to build it myself. I found ONE pre-made rack that suited my needs, and was able to hold all the sizes I wanted. It's made by someone called "RacksAndReptiles" and was reasonably priced at $300 shipped. You can see it here, second picture down (5-shelf 3x3): http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?p=747343

Whaddya think?? He said it will be cut for 4-inch belly heat (or back if you so desired), but doesn't come with the heat tape... so what, where and how much should I order? And how about the thermostat? Which one is best without breaking the bank? I tried asking these questions on the rack forum, but didn't get any responses - so hopefully someone here can help. I just paid for it yesterday, so it will probably arrive within the next week. Yee-haw!!

Erics racks look good. thats basicly the same rack i will be building except higher.

You can buy heat tape at:
    www.beanfarm.com
    www.reptilebasics.com

as for thermostats, the base model herpstat from spyder robotics would work great with your new rack. I just bought my first one and i love it

    Re: Ordered my rack!

I like Rich's racks, they come with heat AND tubs and have free shipping for under $300.

I prefer lidless rack systems, where the top of the shelf touches the top of the tub (without a lid on it).

Woah, I was shopping around for racks a while ago and looked at RBI, but never noticed they were free shipping. I know where I'm getting my next rack

I looked at those, and would much prefer the lidless tubs... but I couldn't find anything by RBI with 3 tub sizes (15, 28 & 41qt), which is really what I need at this point. With only 5 snakes, it seems ridiculous to have 2-3 racks! I also contacted a few about custom racks, but nobody seemed willing to do it. Oh well, I think the one I ordered will be fine for now.

P.S. It does come with tubs, and shipping is also included in the $300... doesn't come with the heat tape, but he will cut it for 4" belly heat.

    Re: Ordered my rack!

i much prefer lidless racks as well. I have an animal plastics economy plastics rack that holds both 16q and 32q tubs so i get the versatility i need without having to have 2 racks... BUT i'll be getting a second rack anyway to house MORE SNAKES. hehehe.

    You're in the Bay Area?

I know a guy selling many boaphile ballroom and RBI CB70 racks for good prices.

He's a fairly well known breeder and honest. If you're interested PM me.
