Rats Galore!!!!!!!!

Wow guys, I had 4 prego's that I knew were prego and had 3 of them deliver so far and had an unexpected deliver too! So far I have 34 rat babies and one more mom to go! LOL I am so glad I built that rat birthing rack the other night!! I have one more open spot so it looks as though I may need to be adding another row soon! But her are the stats: Hairless gave me 10 babies (and she is being a good mom btw, I didn't know how good she would do but had plenty of other mothers that could have fostered them if needed), A hooded rat gave me 7, 2 Lab rats, one gave me 7 the other gave me 10, and I have a creme colored hooded due any day. UPDATE!!!!!!!Last rat mom to be just gave birth to 16 babies!!!!!!! WOW what a first litter! So that gives me a grand total of 50 babies from 5 moms in 7 days! That is just crazy numbers! LOL

Thanks! It has been very interesting to say the least! How soon can you tell if a mother is good or bad cause the one that just gave me 16 babies is ignoring them and not bothering with them at all and has been a few hrs. I think I might have to foster them out? If I do if I take a mothers babies that are bigger and give them to a same size litter of another mother and give the mother I took them babies from the 16 babies how long will she produce milk for?

Congrats. Good to hear your hairless is taking care of her pups. I didn't have as much luck with my last litter. Mom gave birth to 14 pups but 4 were still born and now only 2 remain. They are being fostered by the mom's sister but the mom herself doesn't give them as much as a second glance.

Nice rack for sure! You are going to want to make another one soon with those litters hehe, I made a rack similar and was able to pawn off the overflow to a LPS.
