Anyone try out an istat thermostat yet? Rhp size ok?

So I have 60 days to prepare for the toffino enchi I put a deposit on. Good thing I picked up a cheap use v221 28x22x12 over the weekend (thinking it would be awhile till I fill it). The only other things I need are RBI hides, decor, rhp, and another thermostat. I'm going to be running this set up with only an rhp which I haven't done, I have one setup with rhp and heat mat so I'm familiar with there functions. I'm thinking my only choice from reptile basics is the 40w do to the size of enclosure, nothing else would really work correct? I also emailed pro products to see what they recommend but Ik they are pricy but if I think its best I'll get it. As for the thermostat goes I would like to get another herpstat since I love my 6 but was wondering if anyone has used the istat yet. I was thinking about the compact bc its cheaper then the herpstat 1.

Pro-products messaged me back already and told me the ph-2 40w 11 3/4x12 1/4 so that's about the same as the reptile basics 40w just rbi is a tiny bit bigger. RBI is $70 free shipping and pro-products is $100 shipped. Being that there about the same dimensions and both 40w would I see the same results or is pro-products really better?

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I currently have an RBI RHP in half of a t8, so 24x24x12. I have it on a herpstat II thermostat, and it keeps that cage perfectly heated (warm side around 88F and cool side around 80F in a room that stays around 68-70 degrees.

Its the 40w rhp? If so that should work for me. Cage I'm using is 4 inches longer and 2 inches shorter for width so it should. Average temp in my house is 65-70 and lowest 60 but pro products said their 40w would work. I wish I had each 40w side by side to see if they perform the same.

I heat half of a t10 with the rbi 40 watt. Works fine. I think I'd save the money and get the rbi.

Yeah I wanted to save the $30 and get the rbi one but I was willing to spend the extra if it came down to that. Looks like the rbi I'll buy. Just a little nervous bc this will be my first setup with only rhp as a heat source.

I've read a few places to put the probe but in your experiences where would you say is the best? The cool side and where at on the cool side? Or hot side?
