Everybody in North Carolina knows the name "Copperhead"... It's used to describe every snake in existence, and is usually used as grounds for killing any snake that is come across. Black snakes, brown snakes, green snakes, yellow snakes, white snakes, blue snakes, lizards.... Everything is a Copperhead

Lol in Florida, as it slowly becomes more and more city than anything, fewer and fewer people know that stuff. In my experience it's just rattle snake or moccasin. It doesn't help when the racers and rat snakes will vibrate their tales if you catch or corner one
