When to worry???

Yet another ball python feeding thread. I apologize in advance. Both my females just laid their first clutches. My first as well. neither have gotten back on food yet (its been about 3 weeks). when do you start to worry and what do you even do??? would they starve themselves to death?

They will not starve themselves to death - when they're good and ready to eat, they'll eat.

After the mothers laid eggs, did you thoroughly clean both the animals and the enclosures to get any "egg scent" out? If they can still smell eggs, even if the eggs have been taken away for incubation, they may not return to food until they're done "incubating" and caring for the eggs.

If you have already clean the animal (I wipe my down with chlorhexidine) and cleaned the enclosure (I fully bleach everything) but she is still not eating I would not overly worry.

While not as common some females even when the eggs are incubated only resume feeding around the time their eggs hatch.

I had a female the literally went on strike for 3-4 months and then she finally started to eat. Just make sure to do what Deborah said as far as cleaning. Just in case you haven't. Make sure they have water
