So just start them at 1.3? then keep them that way or add more females to that group later on?

You can add some hoppers to a colony after you clean the cage and there are no existing babies, but I have found anything older and they are not welcomed into the colony.
I have a 1.5 and the male seems to have a lot of fun in there with no problems. I had 3 1.3's and they did very well, so well that my snakes could not keep up

So if the 1.3's worked good, why did you bump them up to 1.5's? Just curious!

At the time I needed more production, everyday their was a new litter and my overflow tank was eventually overflowing and I did not have any extra space.
