corns and bps in the same rack?
I have read that corns are much more forgving with temps. Would they thrive in a rack set to ball python temps? Hot side 92 cool side 80. If I do get a corn I would like to keep it on the same thermostat as my ball pythons.
Thanks!

That would probably be too hot for them. Most people shoot for 70-75F on the cool side and 80-85F on the hot side.
Some people say you should have an 88F basking spot but having an entire hotside of 90F might not be good. And a cool side of 80F definitely won't allow for proper thermoregulating.

Alright thanks for the info! I have an extra thermostat so I should be able to accommodate It would just be easier to have everything at the same temp.

I use the bottom shelfs in my racks for the colubrids. They generally stay much cooler, probably 7-8 degrees cooler. Which is too cool to use for Ball Pythons; however, it does allow for proper thermoregulation for certain species of colubrids .

Do you just put them on the bottom shelf because it is cooler? Or do you set the temp lower?

The closer to the ground, the cooler the temperatures. Especially on old, hardwood floors. Remember, heat rises.
So, there is no need to set the thermostat lower.

Thanks!
I would not place them in the same rack setup as ball pythons period. They both have seperate humidity levels that they need also. They can forgive higher heat for only so long

Re: corns and bps in the same rack?
I would only put them in the same rack, if you can control their shelves separately. Bps and corns have different temperature requirements, and keeping corns at 80-90 wouldn't be good. If you have the extra t-stat, then hook it up and give each species the proper temps.
