    Red face Egg Cycle

    Hey everyone,

I work for a pet store but am more of a snake person. I know quite a bit on lizards but I have a question from a customer of mine. Do bearded dragons have an egg cycle? like do females just lay eggs whether or not they are fertile? and if so how many times a year do they lay?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Re: Egg Cycle

Yes they lay infertile eggs like chickens. It varies with age I have had some lay twice the first season and some 4-6 times by the third season. After a few years it tapers off.

Basically the will brumate(sleep) in the winter, wake up, eat like crazy then start laying. They usually go 3-4 weeks inbetween clutches. They should be fed quite alot during that period.
