Re: Emi's Getting Big
Aww.. so cute and pretty. I remember when you got her and she was just a little worm.. though she's bigger than mine. They have to be the slowest growing snakes..

Re: Emi's Getting Big
They sure do take their time, April. I asked Brian at BHB about that since he breeds loads of them and he confirmed that they just take their own sweet time growing up. Emi's on nice big fat fuzzy rats now and finally starting to pack on some size.

That is a good lookin' snake! She does look quite big too. Looks to be about 2 1/2 feet or so but it's hard to tell... How old do you think she is?

She's getting so big. I remember way back when she barely qualified for a worm. Emi is looking great!

Just for fun....

As far as I know she's just your regular run of the mill Albino Nelson's Milksnake albeit a quite pretty one. She was produced by Ken Wares out of Michigan. www.kenssnakes.com (He's also a partner in www.waresironballs.com)
I've got to say I'm very impressed with Emi. When we were deciding what colubrid to get for our daughter we wanted one that was pretty good about being handled as well as being visually interesting. Nelson's just fit the bill and when Bethie say the pictures that Ken sent of the hatchling Nelson's well it was a done deal. LOL Emi's gotten so easy to handle as she's matured, not as flightly as most colubrids, never has nipped, hasn't musked since she was a hatchling and is just plain easy as pie to keep.
She's on fuzzy rats now and happily takes down 2 a week. Her enclosure is on our entertainment unit so we get to watch her meander around her enclosure and enjoy her beauty. I'm so pleased with her and know she'll make our daughter a great, long time companion snake.
