Help: Ball python/red blotches on belly
If there is someone here who can help, it would be great. My ball pythons have developed red blotches on their underbelly areas. I am very worried, because one recently died, after being perfectly healthy for seven years. Has anyone experienced this problem with their python? If so, what did you do to heal the skin? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well no one will be able to diagnose your snake online and the best advice is to make an appoinment with an herp vet ASAP.
Here is how to find a vet in your area if you are in the US http://www.arav.org/USMembers.htm
In the mean time replace your subtrate by clean dry paper towel.

Re: Help: Ball python/red blotches on belly
How do you heat the cage? Make sure there are no 'hot rocks', that any lights are outside of the cage and not accessable by the snake, and that undertank heaters are regulated by a rheostat or thermostat.
Is the substrate dry or damp? Damp substrate can lead to a variety of infections. The snake should be taken to a vet for a diagnosis, and treatment of the problem.
