I been trying to find some search on Savannah monitors and Nile Monitors about them. I'm been thinking about getting one for my first time.. but I asking for help to find out more about them r they hard to take care of or they more hard then Iguana? And is it a good idea to buy one???

Hmm ok I'm not ready for Nile monitors that too big.. I'm going to try Savannah monitors I feel that well be best start for me. I hear they get 3-4 feet long right? they r really smart and I hear I have to give them time and they well be really nice and sweet. I'm thinking getting 1 or 2.. but now for the tank what if I get one Savannah monitor and what big tank do I get? like 75 gal or 65 gal .. to live in it forever..

They need big enclosures with lots of space. One is probably the most you can handle if this is your first experience with monitors. They can be extremely aggressive as juveniles. They do not bite like snakes, but more like crocs from what I read.

Ok thx for the link..I guess I go with one. now if I put it in a 55 tank till it time for a big space.I was just thinking can I put in a Iguana cage?

Don't waste your time. If you can or know someone who can, get a custom one. They need more length than height.

Also, an open cage like that is a bad idea. They need high heat, moderate humidity, and love to dig, it will cost a lot more to maintain temps and humidity in a wire cage. Go for a custom cage if you really decide on one. Monitors are a lot of work. Frequent water changes, feedings, and cleanings plus the amount of space they take.

I'd start with an ackie over a savannah if I could redo it. Ackies are smaller, require less space, and are generally not aggressive like so many savs tend to be. By the time the sav hits 2-3', the bit will literally bring tears to your eyes just from the pain, not to mention the thrashing they do once they bite. That was the last bite I ever got that made me clinch my teeth and run for my vodka. Unless you have lots of time to spend on cleaning, feeding, and taming, I'd say avoid a sav at all costs. A tame savannah is hard to find, a tame or atleast non aggressive ackie is a lot more common. You do the research.
Just be aware that a savannah will need a min of a 6' by 3' cage to do it right, an 8' by 4' is what I would go for if I did it again.

Ya I'm ready for it.. I use have 4 Iguana so i'm ready for the next lvl with this liz.

ok i don't know no one who can make me a cage but i finded some online if i buy one off line than i want a cage that it can live in forever..
