Re: Lizards and Possums....(DU Warning)
Awesome pics! I love how blue fence lizards can get, that's just not a color you see on a lot of animals. The weather is just starting to get warm enough for herps here in N. Utah. We're going down to southern Utah in a couple weeks, so I'll be sure to post some pics when I get back. Until then, I'll have to settle for the few herps that are active below 60 degrees.

That first anole pic is one of my favorites from today too. I like how they 'hide' like that when they see preditors....arms tucked in, as close to the branch as possible, and motionless.
Fence Lizards ROCK! That little guy had some awesome color....kinda of a orangish tint on the rest of him too...the second pic shows a little bit of it...especially around the eyes.

Daniel, i was wondering. here in cali with westerns you'll see really dark specimens where you can hardly see their pattern and then you'll see a really light specimen, almost khaki like along with the normal grey fence lizards. i call it "dark phase" and "tan fase" because i dont know what it is. do you have that with easterns where you're at?
im curious to what causes it. im thinking it just depends on the parents, or maybe their surroundings. you know, like they grow into whatever color they're around most. i really have no idea though.

Marshall....the females around here seem to be a little lighter(grayish) than the males....but the majority of the males look like the one in the pic. I have seen some males a little darker (even their blue is a little darker)...but they are not really dark. I have never really seen a khaki fence lizard though
