    Mating season behaviour

    Hey!

My male corn has been acting really out of character the last three weeks. I know that corns have their mating season around March-May, and I have wondered if these behaviours could be because of that? He's usually very friendly and well-behaved when handling. Now though he cruises around his tank all the time and is much more jumpy, almost as if he's constantly hungry even though I feed him regularly. There have been no changes to his temps or husbandry, or any other factor that could cause him stress. He even bit me for the first time in a long time without provocation (I was changing his water and he came at my fingers without showing any defensive signs).

So could these behaviors be because of mating season? Or should I look more into it? I remember that last spring he was also a lot more active and jumpy, but I just want to be sure. Thanks! :)

Probably just spring fever. My 2 adult male corns are very restless & not eating too. I also have 2 adult females here as well, which they can just forget about ever meeting & mating with. All my corn snakes are elderly (16 years old!) & I'm not looking for more snakes anyway.

Just make sure to rule out other issues (wrong temps etc).
