    Hi there!

My name is Aimee (ahouseofscales). I am a young adult just out of college (University of New England) living with my partner in Southern Maine, though I am originally from Northern Vermont. I am about to start my career as a high school life science teacher, and i spend my summers working with kid ages 4-14 as a summer camp environmental educator. I have been working with aquariums for over a decade (although I am taking a break from having personal tanks at the moment). I got my first crested gecko in 2018 (RIP Asha) and have had reptiles ever since.

My current crested gecko is named Abraxos. He is a 4 year old male red fuzzy bicolor phantom het dalmatian from Daggi's Reptiles. He was purchased on October 3rd, 2021 at the New England Reptile Expo in Manchester NH, and he is currently living in a bioactive 18x18x24 glass enclosure.

I just purchased a ball python (which inspired me to join this forum) named Atticus. He is a yearling male yellowbelly lesser mahogany het albino from Ectothermic Dungeon. He was purchased July 9th, 2023 at the New England Reptile Expo, and he is living in a 24x24x16 PVC enclosure.

Thanks for reading, see you later!

Hey- We have members that keep geckos too, all kinds of snakes (not just BPs) & plenty of other animals too. Sounds like a great time in your life for you, & we'd be happy to have you join the conversations here, or ask questions if you've got any. In other words, make yourself at home.

Would your snake be named for Atticus Finch, by any chance? (from one of my favorite movies, if so)

No, we just needed an "A" name to fit with our theme, and Atticus fit him well. I do tend to call him Atticus Finch a lot though!

    Hey Aimee!

    Welcome!
You are off to a great start.
I deal with Jim and Matt from Ectothermic Dungeon on occasion.
They are good guys and spend a great deal of effort to keep their ball pythons healthy.
I have a few of their ball pythons from years past.

That's cool! I am definitely happy with how healthy Atticus is. He's been perfect so far!
