Mites or colouration
I noticed these on my boy today I checked heat pits and chin and eyes and can’t see anything he has a few areas like this I don’t know if it’s mites or colouration I’ve ordered Taurus predatory mites just incase and when they area I will be stripping the substrate renewing and using them anyway but just wondered if these could be his colouration as I don’t have much morph information at all apart from possible pastel yb

Mites move. They also wipe off on a damp paper towel.

My female has teeeeeeny speckles like that too, hers are all inside the alien heads and towards the belly. They do make me do a double-take sometimes:

I put it down to colouration when I first got him but today started worrying and second guessing so I’ve bought predatory mites just to make sure

Re: Mites or colouration
Hello, fellow Geordie
My Clown boy has one speckle like that on his belly and I swear I have to double-take every single time. But yeah, mites move and normally wedge themselves right in between the scales. You should be able to move them around by wiping them. Heat pits and chin are the more common areas but they can sit anywhere really.
What helped me was making a note of where the speckle was, and checking regularly to make sure it wasn't moving. After months of checking and seeing it hadn't moved, I put it down to definitely just being a single speckle haha.

Well hello haha yeh so it turned out to be speckles I used Taurus mites and now I’m using mite gone after every substrate change just to make sure but I’ve triple checked the spots and they are definitely speckles haha
