Are some snakes just poor shedders?

I have had this snake for about three months and she has shed twice. She is about 5 or 6 months old and weighs around 300 gms. Both sheds were just a mess, ragged patches of old skin all over. I manage to peel most of it off, the neck area is difficult. The problem is not the humidity. It was around 70% the first time and this time I upped it to 80%. (I use damp sphagnum moss in mesh bags) It was a short interval between the time I first noticed her blue eyes and the shed, only three days. I have two other balls in identical conditions and both have always had perfect one piece sheds. Is this a chronic problem with some snakes? Has anyone had experiences with a snake like this? Am I going to have this problem with every shed?

I have never had a ball that had chronic bad sheds, however I have had new animals come in and it take a shed or two to get with the program.

My adult BP has had a few bad sheds over the years in spite of her humidity being in the high 60s and low 70s.

This. A good shed starts when the new skin is first forming so it can take several shed cycles to fix poor sheds due to humidity that's too low.

If your snake will take f/t feeders then offer them wet, that will help keep your snake hydrated.
