The guy I got Lizzy from breeds IJ's. I'll see if I can get in touch with him tomorrow, uh I mean when I wake up this afternoon.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    1.2 Coastal Carpet Pythons
    Mack The Knife, 2013
    Lizzy, 2010
    Etta, 2013
    1.1 Jungle Carpet Pythons
    Esmarelda , 2014
    Sundance, 2012
2.0 Common BI Boas, Punch, 2005; Butch, age?
0.1 Normal Ball Python, Elvira, 2001
0.1 Olive (Aussie) Python, Olivia, 2017

Please excuse the spelling in my posts. Auto-Correct is my worst enema.

ZA- I just got off the phone with phone with my breeder. He said as far as being nippy when young both breeds are similar in his experience. He feels that they both mellow out great as they age.

I forgot to remind you that you are looking at different ends of the spectrum size wise as far as Carpets go.
In case that makes any difference.

Average adult lengths for Coastals run around 7-9 ft. And for IJs the average is about 5-6 ft.

This might impact your decision as well.

Great thread. All carpets are essentially the same with some differences. I highly suggest reading the book. "The Complete Carpet Python" written by Nick Mutton and Justin Julander. Justin also breeds carpets. His site is Australian Addiction. I think the carpet group is one of the if not THE best display snakes out there.

I agree, that book is THE reference book and a great read. Money well spent.
