    Chlorhexidine??

I've been seeing a lot about this stuff... I haven't had to do a tub clean yet as I just got my two not long ago and they haven't even had their first feed with me yet. But they're getting fed tonight and I know they're going to be dirtying their tubs soon! I want to be prepared...

I'm in Canada and I'm trying to find a place I can get this stuff. There is a gallon for sale on Amazon.ca but it's $25 + shipping (http://www.amazon.ca/Chlorhexidine-S.../dp/B000HHNZVW) and that's a lot!! So I started looking around...

Is this what I need?? https://well.ca/products/rougier-vap...ate_32070.html

That's a lot more doable for me and the warehouse is only a few hours from my house so I'll get it very quickly.

And if that's not what it is, what about this stuff? http://www.petsmart.ca/reptile/clean...6-catid-500006

Honestly just stick with a known cleaner that I find to be amazing. Kills a broad spectrum of everything and smells good. Doesn't leave fumes.

If you want a tank safe spray to kill any mites or prevent mites after cleaning then use this:

I've been using the F10SCXD cleaner and F10SC disinfectant. Both work great for me.

You can probably find it on Amazon, but I got my current batches from Reptile Basics:

I unfortunately can't order from reptile basics. They don't ship to Canada.

I can't order from amazon.com The shipping is insane to Canada. At least where I am.

Example... I wanted to order a $2 Chinese lantern thing and they wanted $22 shipping lol

Edit... I went on amazon.ca and they do have the zoomed cleaner. I wonder if it's better than the Fluker's one I can get locally though. It would save shipping costs.

That chemical can generally be gotten by prescription in any pharmacy

Have a vet right a script for it and you should be able to buy it. It is used in mouthwash. I had an infection in my gums when a tooth died, and had to rinse with it for three months, because, my allergies to antibiotics made the infection hard to treat. You could also have a dentist right you a script for it. This chemical is considered one of the most important medications world wide. Every pharmacy has it.

Chlorhexadine is very well known. It has been used by vets for years to clean examine tables. The brand name is called Novalsan. Chlorhexadine is just the generic version name but the same stuff. I use both that and the Zoo Med Wipeout stuff but the Wipeout stuff is pretty strong and you have to air out the cage before you put the animal back in. Chlorhexadine is much more friendly and I use that to clean water bowls too and even to spot clean inside the cage. Getting a little on the substrate doesn't hurt as if you dilute it down like the directions say, you can use it as an oral rinse as well. Some people say the fumes have actually cured very light cases of RI but I'm not sure I believe that. Regardless though, its my go to cleaner and hand rinse. For mites look for Natural Chemistry Reptile Spray. I have never had to deal with mites but a lot of people on here have praised that Natural Chemistry stuff. I always knew about PAM.
