    Shed & feeding question

So my big guy Conan is trying to shed but hasn't really started yet. He is really dull and foggy eyes. I tried to feed him on his normal feed day which is Sunday. He didn't want anything to do with the rat(live). I usually can't get my hand out fast enough. I left it in there for about a hour and then took it out. When and how often should I offer it to him again? Sorry, another newbe question.

    Wait until after the shed.

While I'll admit I'm not the most experienced herper on the forum. The answer to your question is pedestrian.

Yeah some won't eat during shed I'm sure he'll be nice and hungry once he's done. Also I personally think leaving a live rat in for an hour is too long unless you're sitting there watching the whole time. Me personally when feeding live if they aren't interested the rat comes out after 20 minutes tops.

That was going to be my next question. How long to leave the rat in the enclosure. We always are in the room while they are in there. It's like the hi light of out week. To watch them eat. If I'm not in there my boys are. This is the first time we have had to wait at all. Both of my BP's are great eaters. But I'll keep the 20 min time frame in my in the future. Thank u for your input!
