It's one of the better "budget" thermostats and does the job. Mine has been completely fine so far for the almost 3 months that I've been using it.

1.0 Crested Gecko - Drake

I had one that failed in three months. It failed on. I was lucky and caught it shortly after it failed. I will not use them again or recommend them.
I use Herpstat and love them.
Your tstat is the most important item you will buy. Buy the best you can.

I have a couple hydros, zillas, helix and VEs.
My preference are the VEs but a hydro will get the job done.
You have to remember that ANY electrical device can fail.

I believe the fail rate on Hydrofarm is higher than others but there are many people who use them for years without issue. I've used one on multiple enclosers and racks for over a year without issue. I would definitely urge you to consider one of the intro thermostats from VE, Helix, or Herpstat. The Herpstat has a great feature where if it fails, it turns OFF so you won't burn your house or your pets house down.

I've used them for a few years, never had any issues. Now that I've got my hands on some helix's, i'll be phasing them out. But really, they're really great for beginners. If you're worried about it, I know herpstat or VE has a beginners one for like....$50 or less. (I don't remember which one it is, heh). I've also heard pretty good things about the one you can get at petco, oddly enough.
Mine's bigger.

Ive been using two continuously for over a year without problems. Hard to beat the price point, but like just about anything else you get what you pay for. I don't care for the 4 degree temp swing particularly.

I use them on my small personal collection. I have had one out of about 10-15 that I have running fail off on me. I have heard of them failing on though so best to keep an eye on them. I prefer Helix thermostats personally.
