    Let's talk hognose genetics

I've been offered from a good friend a hypo male and a 100% hypo female both around 60g.
I'm great with BP genetics, but with hognoses I know there is an incomplete dominant hypo, then a recessive hypo. Which is confusing me My friend isn't sure what kind of hypo this male is, but he looks like a lemon hypo. And the female being 100% hypo, I'm not sure what line of hypo she is het for. Are hypo recessive lines in hypos for hognoses compatible with each other? Or no?

I'm just curious as to what I could get from the outcome of this pairing. Not too worried about it now, just curious and asking people who have experience in breeding hogs.

The genetics really function the same way however it get's tricky with a few mutations that can be either recessive or dom. You have the issue with hypo and aneries as well.

    Lemon Hypo is Dominant

Evans Hypo is Recessive (Evans Hypo is really a T+ Albino in case you weren't confused enough)

Then there is the True Hypo recessive also

    Those are not compatible.

your friend really has no idea on what line he is working with?

So if your male is a Lemon Hypo and the female is Het Hypo you would get some lemon hypo 50% Het Hypo as well as some 50% het hypo

    Oh goodness lol
I'll be sure to ask him in more detail.
I'm not too worried about because even if her lines aren't compatible, or one is a dom and the other is a recessive, it'll still be cool to produce to hognoses
