favorite color or pattern morph for a pet? Help me decide.

Hello, Ive been mulling around what to get next and keep coming back to another ball python. I am considering either an Albino or a Super pastel(do they keep their bright colors as adults?)
But Ive seen very few morphs in person except some gorgeous butters and they look nothing like the pictures so makes me wonder what Im missing.

I am not a breeder so genetics arent as important as looks.I only have one normal male bp that was a rescue a few years ago.He is my favorite snake though, just the calmest and best personality despite the previous severe neglect he suffered. And about as easy as they come as far as care.

Anyway Im thinking in the 300/400 dollar range.Id love it if pics are included,

For a pet I would go with a desert. They are stunning as babies and only get better with age. Plus because you are not going to breed the issues with females not producing eggs would not matter.

Ya I agree with deserts getting better with age but I'm a sucker for a super pastel but if your going to spend the money on the super go with a pastave (pastal Mojave) they retain the colors better and just make a stunning snake

I may be bias but I was in the same boat last month and bought a Lesser/Butter. She is beautiful! I am obsessed with her colors! $250.

Expensive but I love super chocolates! I agree deserts would make an awesome pet.

Re: favorite color or pattern morph for a pet? Help me decide.

There are tons of two-gene male combos available in the $300-$400 range these days. Why not browse on kingsnake.com and just see what you like the look of that's in your price range? If you're not planning to breed, you don't need to worry about whether one that you like is a prime example of the morph - just go with what appeals to you.

FWIW, I agree with the desert idea. You can get a stunner of a BP for a pet price.

Both of those babies are gorgeous.I know how pretty those butters are since they are the only ones Ive seen up close. This guy had alot of them and actually he was the breeder of my normal. My friend got him from the guy and and I went with her. A year later she handed me a dehydrated baby with two sheds stuck to him and the size of a hatchling, it had only eaten twice(she was baking him).

The Desert is very nice too, had to look it up. I have a feeling this thread is just going to make the decision harder instead of easier
BTW Im a big fan of contrasting colors.

well i have to be honest, i def wanted a morph. it is a family pet and just wanted it to look as cool and interesting as possible. i knew the cooler it looked, the more attention it would get from my daughters and girlfriend. i went to a local shop and looked past the first tank with the normals. the second tank was the lesser /butter (which i own now). she was in her hide and i only saw a little piece of her. i didn't give her much attention and went right to the next tank with the albino. i asked to see it and held her for a while. i was already in contact with an online shop and was ready to buy a lemon blast. while holding the albino, the lesser moved from her hide and i was able to see much more of her. my reaction was "wow"!!! i instantly gave the albino back and asked to see the lesser. once she was removed from the tank, my decision was made. i never looked back or regretted purchasing her for one second. She just shed and looks even more beautiful. My daughters can not get enough of her and even my girlfriend is obsessed as well!!!! Good luck deciding. all hard choices!!! keep us posted with your decision!!!
