    Tubs

So I have my ASFs in a plastic tub and I have the 1/2 cloth on the top. I want to put my breeding colony in a tub but when they have babies I know that the babies would be able to fit through the 1/2 cloth. If I use 1/4 cloth for the top that's not the issue. Should I still use 1/2 for the hopper or could I use 1/4 for the hopper? I'm just scared that if I use 1/4 for the hopper then they wouldn't be able to get the food out. I really need some advice on this from someone that has a little more experience in this area!!

They Will always get the food and you can also make cuts to open slightly bigger gaps in cloths

I would use 1/4 for everything. Babies can get stuck/out of 1/2 all the time, it' surprising how big they can be and get out. Especially if you take my advice about the sow and piglet food, because it comes in small pellets that will be easy to get out for them.

I just dump my food in the bedding every other day though.

    Re: Tubs

Well how we did it was used the 1/4 for the top and for the food hopper we used the 1/2 but we took some PVC pipe and put it around the top and left like 2-3 inches on the bottom for them to be able to eat. And since there is always going to be food in there the babies are not gonna squeeze through there and push their way up to food. Plus we made a top for the top of the hopper so it could be sealed off.
