In the market for an Albino.

So, I've been planning on adding a Red Blood to the collection for quite some time now and have finally got my resources in order where I can actually buy one however, I'm kind of at a loss on where to go? I haven't seen many adds that I've been fond of on Kingsnake or Fauna so I'm trying to look for breeders instead. I know that VPI, the Blood Line, and Black Hill Pythons sell them but I'd like a lot of options.

And if anyone could maybe give me an estimate on what to expect in terms of price, that'd be helpful too because the last place I looked at was selling them $250 each and I feel like that's probably on the very low side.

    Thanks!

I got my T pos female from LLL Reptile (I prefer to buy from breeders but I saw her at an expo and couldn't pass her up) and she was $300 (was 200 grams when I got her). I see regular albinos for $250-$300 regularly on Kingsnake (without shipping). Sorry I can't help with any specific breeders besides actually going to VPI, and maybe Kara has some available?

Kara? I know I've heard that name before but I don't recall what it's connected to.

Also, I haven't seen anything on Kingsnake that's bee particularly inspiring recently. I did contact one person but her Albinos were super muddy and didn't seem work the pricetag. I'll check out LLL though, I've bought other things from them in the past and they seem decent enough. :V

Kara at The Blood Cell www.BloodPythons.com

I'd recommend Tim Mead too but I don't think he works with albinos, but he has really nice shorties and borneos though

Here's my girl Mivacca that I got from LLL, recent pics from Jan 8th:

When I first got her back in May at the Vegas Expo (how she's grown!):

I'd see if they can provide individual pics of what they have available if you don't find any breeders

Wow, that's a really attractive girl you've got there! Great pick up so I'll definitely have to shoot LLL an email to at least see if they've got anything.

Would definitely recommend The Blood Cell (bloodpythons.com) for any of the blood family group, brongersmai in particular. I've been obsessing over their forums for a year now, and their Resources section has probably the best and most extensive care guide around; for these snakes, anyway. The babies they produce are just phenomenal.

I'm always surprised at how generally low ($75-500 seems to be average) bloods/Borneos/Sumatrans are priced, because for me, they're incredibly high-quality looking snakes, but I suppose it ties in with the larger size and higher cage housing pricetag. Wish more people would work with P. curtus; I'd pay any amount of scratch for a nice yellow-head baby!

As far as price goes it's pretty much graded in most cases. The lines known well for being super red tend to be pricier. All depends on what you're looking for. Good luck in your search

Here's my young female. She was produced by The Blood Line. I love her.
