I once saw a woman with a large parrot in the grocery store produce aisle, leaning OVER the produce with the bird in her hand.
I'm generally not this judgmental, but that grossed me out.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

When it is really nice and hot outside I bring Andromeda outside to either an empty area in the park or my college campus so she can feel the sun on her and explore in the grass. I'm always sure not to get near people but a lot of the times they aproach me wanting to learn about her. I always bring around hand sanatizer though incase someone wants to touch her. I used to meet up with a girl who had a redtail boa at my college so we could educate people who were interested in them :3

I walk to go on walks with my snakes (on my property) for some fresh air, but I only take my snakes in public for reptile presentations. Once I took my snakes to a school (Slinky, Tori, Four, and the g-stripe I traded) for an educational show. Most people were really interested!

I would never take mine out for fun. I think it would stress them out to much and well i don't have them to be stressed or sick. I would also be afraid i would bring home mites or somthing and risk my babies.

I lived in northern Michigan until about five years ago. This time of year it's too cold for PEOPLE to be outside! Ha ha!
Your snake is your pet and if you've read all of this advice and decide you still want to take it out once in awhile, please don't do it during a Michigan winter!
God, I don't miss it

Not true....service animals are allowed there and many restaurants in pet friendly cities around the US love having dogs with their owners on the patio and outdoor dining areas...even providing water bowls for said dogs....
