Ivory Eye Color?
So I was just checking out the fauna site, looking at different morph prices. I'm thinking of putting out the cash for a white snake this summer/early fall, so just testing the waters.
Anyways, I keep seeing pictures of Ivories, and they have the black eye/red pupil thing going on in the pictures. I thought that that was just Black Eyed Leucies that had that? I'm obviously not an expert, that was just my understanding.
Alright, thanks very much

The ivories that I have seen have had blue eyes. Eye color isn't always constant with morphs. Some morphs always have the same eye color and some don't.

Alright. I only noticed because that combination is so striking, and I was under the impression that it was only Black Eyed Leucistics that had them :p Thanks for the input though

I personally have never seen an ivory that had black eyes with red pupils, I'm not saying that it is impossible but I would guess that they are likely black eyed lucies. If you could post a link to one maybe we can tell you what it is. There are some differences besides the eyes.

Pretty sure our ivory has black eyes red pupils. Will have to check in the morning. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/ivory/ also shows this.
Are ivories another type of leucism?

Re: Ivory Eye Color?
I'm pretty sure that the first pic - pretty far from the eyes - was an Ivory. The eyes looked dark, but there was some grey on the head. But the other two pictures that were really close to the eye didn't look like there was much colour on the head (they were focused on the eyes, so the top of the head wasn't super clear) so I'm pretty sure the last two pics were of a Black eyed leucy, and that the first was an ivory. I would totally post a pic.. but it was 30+ pages in and it's been closed for a while.. so I don't really want to try and find it again.
Edit: just saw that world of ball python link and it does look like they can have the black eyes red pupil, so that clears some stuff up. Who knows was just a matter of curiosity anyways.

I don't think that they are another type of leucism as they are not a completely white snake. they have yellows and grays. But I'm not well versed in Ivories or Leucistics
*Edit*
Now that I think about it maybe they are, they seem to come in blue eyed and black eyed versions. As I said I'm now well versed with white snakes.

I'm not sure either, haven't had anyone really be able to answer for me (new post time!), but I figure it's similar to a super mojave BEL with the head stamp. Technically even lots of super fires aren't entirely white, lots of big yellow patches. I'm not sure what actually qualifies as leucistic, or if things like the superfire and super mojave aren't 'truly' leucistic.

Re: Ivory Eye Color?
Black eyes and red pupils are my favorite thing about my ivory. I never could get a very good pick of it though, this was the best I was able to get.

Re: Ivory Eye Color?
I wouldn't say Black eyes I would describe them as a real dark blue with the red pupil if you put them into the light you see the blue tint.
Ivorys are amazing and they get better and better with age. Don't know if you could label them Leucys but I do, Super mojos are considered leucys and they are dirtier in my OP.
If I had to pick between my Ivory and Super mojo the decision would be easy the ivory is much nicer now in adulthood.
