Whats the major differences between these guys and leos? Besides being from different continents lol...

I don't have any hands on experiences with keeping them, yet. What I've read they seem to require a bit more humidity, they are normally even more docile than leos, supposedly a bit harder to breed (but I'm thinking it shouldn't still be difficult), small appearance difference such as a shorter snout and more stout feet, and obviously the morphs are much different.
I really like that the market isn't saturated with breeders, at least yet. They seem to have tons of potential with new morphs being introduced every year. Exciting stuff in the fat tail world to come!

Please tell that to my terrors downstairs that insist on biting me  No, in general I agree with that.. but some of the ones I have are terrors... just today I got attacked twice and bitten by a one hour old hatchling!

My breeders are fine. Hatchlings can be fiesty, but that's because upon hatching, they become food for EVERYTHING.

It's seems many hatchlings of every species are pretty ferocious, as well like you said. Each individual is different. I still remain with my main statement, I have never held a reptile as calm as a fat tail. I've never had any of my own (yet) but I have had the opportunity to hold lots of different ones from hatchlings to adults at reptile shows and shops. Truly an awesome species, I can't wait to take them to another level in a couple years through selective breeding!

They are pretty mellow critters. The babies seem more flighty to me, but I'm also convinced I'll accidentally crush one since I'm used to ball python hatchlings.

If I were to get a gecko, I'd get a fattail. I absolutely adore their pudgey qualities and I've heard they're more social and tame easier than leos, though not sure on that. I can't right now; the way my apartment is kept pest free would kill any bugs in the house (though is supposed to be safe for reptiles themselves and cats, I checked with the pest control company).
