    ASF Breeding

I just had a question, because I had an unexpected litter the other day. I'm just curious about the colors of the pinks. They're only a couple days old, but they look different.

    First, Pics of the parents.

    Dad.

Mom and Dad on the wheel.

    Babies.

This is where I was confused. I was expecting some brown babies. 2 of the litter appears to be white, and they don't have dark spots under their eyelids, so their eyes will probably be a light color, possibly red? It's probably a genetic trait, but the guy I got then from had no pure white ASF's and none that had light colored eyes. What do you think?

Your two light ones look like argente, or cinnamon argente. Argente is the pink eye diluted form of agouti, and cinnamon argente is the pink eye diluted form of cinnamon.

You have cinnamon and agouti adults, so it could be either one. The parents were carriers of the pink eyed gene, and that's where they came from.

    Re: ASF Breeding

Thanks for the quick reply. I think those two will be keepers. I'm not good with genetics, I just keep them if they look nice. Hopefully they will have nice temperament like their parents. I'll post some new pics once they're a little older.
