    mini terrarium

I came across this little project last night and I woke up itchin' to find a way to make it happen. Its a mini terrarium in a light bulb!

I love the endless possibilities and will probably end up being the bulk of my xmas presents this year. I've seen some with stain glass designs along the backside of the bulb and the wire makes a nice holding piece. I really enjoyed this project so I thought I'd share this with you all.

In mine I used dollar store sea shells instead of rocks because they were much smaller, also I used vanity bulbs because of the nicer shape and I will recommend NOT getting too excited and hitting the file through the bottom of the bulb

    here's what I made:

Enjoy! If you have any questions, I'll totally help you along, its super easy!

Here are the refs I used:

Haha I bet! Glass blowing is one of those things that I've watched it enough to make me say I need to try that at least once.
So do you do stain glass work?

yeah. stained glass and stained glass mosaics.

glass blowing is a blast! i did some during a flame working class i took. i highly recommend trying both out!! it is so strange working with glass that is molten.

Thats really cool and I just need to find somewhere near me that would allow me to try it out.
We have a art fest every fall and usually there's glass blowers that come to it. So I know there has to be a studio in at least a 2.5 hour radius :p

    Re: mini terrarium

hahah wicked I'd clean them out and then decorate them up you'd have a nice large canvas to work on. I bet you could make some crazy wicked terrariums! which you'll need to post pictures of if you do haha
