"Seasons of the Heart" - Traditional Dog Artwork

This took me ages to do, about 40-50 hours of work, so now that I finally can, I wanted to share it. All traditional media, nothing digital.

.... Is the center dog supposed to be Jesus?

The image looks almost religious in nature as it seems to take a very similar style to modern religious artwork.

    Thanks.

Oxylepy, no. I wouldn't know what modern religious artwork constitutes as it's not something I appreciate. Nor would I know what makes that style of artwork somehow different from others when usuing fundamental elements of design.

Beautiful! My favorite is the dog in the lower right. It looks like a photograph!! Very good job. Mind listing the mediums you used?

Not at all. The dogs and leaves are colored pencil with a bit of acrylic and the background is watercolor.

That's really cool! I've tried mixed media like that before, and it never came out very good. What are the dimensions of this? It looks big.

That is simply beautiful! You're VERY talented!!

I think some might see religious connotations because there is a central figure...and he's gazing upward....and the stems from the leaves seem to make a kind of halo effect around his head.

I've often wondered how much our modern day interpretations of classic art and literature have little basis in reality. The artist/author may have simply been enjoying themselves and writhing their story or painting their picture...but because some elements just happen to appear vaguely thematic, folks think it was intended to have some religious or philosophical message.
