Every water feature I have had in a cage was removable. Have you thought about cleaning this pond out?
Snakes love going to the bathroom it their water and having a built in pond it going to make it very difficult to empty and clean.
If it were me I would get a good size water bowl and place it in the pond area, then I would add a lot of substrate around it to make it an in ground pool. This way you can take it out and clean it if need be and you will still have a good size water source. Plus the deep substrate around the bowl would be prefect to plant more plants in.

My cool side in around that so that is what I would aim for.
Some people are going to say how pointless it is and whatever but it's your choice. Also you might be surprised to see your royal having a bit of a swim in there if that's what it fancies.
Just like putting things to climb on. Not all royals climb but some will use it if it's there.
It would also help with humidity which is always a plus.
That's the truth. I put a waterfall in mine once. Just for looks mainly for myself. My guy LOVED it. He'd climb all over it and usually diverted the flow of water out of the basin and into the tank. Needless to say, it caused more of a mess than it was worth. It's gone now.

Water problems/lamp problems
Hey,First time owner of a bp.I have my water bowl above my heating pad.I dug out alittle bedding to get a better flow of heat to the bowl.When I did that my humidity level raised to 50 to 60 degrees at all times.Now I have a problem with the water being 93 degrees.What do I need to do about my water being on the hot side?if I move the bowl my humidity goes down and I can't put my lamp in the middle of the terrarium...
Then my Hotspot will be im the middle of the terrarium
