It kinda seems like they've never eaten...OR

They were fed a maintenance diet for the little time they've been on this Earth.

End result, I think they just need food.

First, the way I stated that makes it seem like he had a lot of bad guy responses, but I just meant in general there are some terrible stories. Actually I just did a search for him because it made me curious and he has a lot of great feedback.

Second, I have no reason to publicly bad mouth the guy and I don't want any possible negativity in this thread to be associated with him so I won't post his name here. I'll PM it to you since you asked with the request that it stays private.

For the purpose of updating this thread and keeping track until I figure out a system....


The two little girls ate again five days later. Missy, who seems the strongest feeder, ate hers with the quickness (20g). Star needed a little more song and dance before she attacked(18g). She also had the best coil I've seen so far (Pictured below). Most of the time just one or two times around with the neck is what I see.

Scarlett did some heavy inspection (28g) but was more concerned with escaping. The only difference between her and the other two is that she is in the center, may be warmer, and she is more than double their size in the same size container (300+ grams in a 12qt). I think I'll swap her with Missy and see what happens, as far as tub position.

Zeek attacked the rat I brought him before I picked it up, aka through the glass. He was all over it before he could even get to it. I lowered it in the cage and it was gone (58g). I fed Zeek three small rats (180g) just eight days ago.

I totally agree with this statement. None of my balls are underfed at all. In fact I have a couple ladies who eat like pigs but they will still be perfectly capable of pulling in their bellies. Balls also do this when they are around a clutch and the eggs will sort of lay inside that hollowed out spot. I remember seeing a ralph davis vid where he describes this and shows it.
