Question about breeds/morphs

First off forgive me for not knowing the terms!

My one girl kalmah had a mom(or dad) that was a ghost, and the other parent was regular, and somehow she came out kinda regular looking.... what does this mean for genetics like... is she going to change color later on? She kind of is getting more vibrant yellow slowly... but does this just mean if she was to be breeded the tendency for ghost would be there?

The ghost trait (also called hypo) is recessive. So if one parent was ghost and the other was not...then she can not be a ghost herself. However, she will carry the gene for creating ghosts in the future, if paired with another snake that also carries the gene. She is considered "het for ghost" because she carries one gene of the pair.

Ghost is a recessive trait, so in order to produce a ghost, both parents must have a copy of the gene. Your female would be Heterozygous Ghost (usually abbreviated as Het. Ghost) meaning that she has one copy of the Ghost gene (because one parent was a Ghost and the other was normal). She looks normal, but can produce Ghosts if bred to another Ghost or Het. Ghost from a compatible line. Hope that helps...
