Something wrong with snake plz help! Snake skin looks strange
Hey guys!

this is my first snake and she’s about 3 years old never had a problem but after her last shed I noticed a weird change in her skin. One half of her looks different to the other if someone could help. https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...ibb.co/SySbzKZhttps://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...ibb.co/SySbzKZ

That appears to be stuck shed.

I'd let it soak for a while and then you may have to assist in removing the rest.

Yes, & FYI, every time your snake sheds, do check to see that it ALL came off. Sooner is better (easier) than after it dries out a lot. ;) Spray heavily or for best results, soak your snake in a very damp towel & shallow water before trying to manually assist with the rest of the shed.

Pay close attention to: eye caps (they can get stuck badly & even need vet's help)
: tail tips (just one or several sheds left on tail tip can cut off the already-minimal blood supply & cause death of tissue- maybe even need surgical removal of gangrene.
: chin & neck of snake- those are places where shed skin commonly gets stuck on some snakes like BPs.

The large amount of stuck-shed suggests you need to check humidity & make sure it's increased to about 70-75% when your snake is about to shed. Offering a humid hide is also a good idea.

Also, IF you notice your snake is going cloudy (aka "blue")(ie. going into a shed), it's best NOT to feed them but wait until AFTER they shed. Some snakes refuse to eat during shed anyway, but for some snakes, digestion also competes for the water in their body that they also need to accomplish a good shed without help, so a meal can make for a bad shed. FYI- snakes secrete some moisture between the old & new skin- that's why a fresh shed feels moist. But if your snake is also digesting a meal, that too uses more water from a snake's body, & there's not always enough to do both very well. See?
