Breeding Help Please
Hey guys and gals.
So in South Africa winter is approaching. With 2 of my girls now over 1.5kg's i figured i would give my hand at breeding this season.
I am very very excited!
I have cooled over the last month or so and started introducing my male. Who is a spider, just over a year, about 800Grams and producing sperm plugs.
I had hopes of trying my younger butter who is currently at 550Grams but it doesn't seem like that will happen.
I will be using this thread to ask questions that i don't find answers to and look for opinions and support where i need it. Please bare with me if my questions are silly.
I generally put my male in with 1 of the females on a Friday, and take him out on Monday morning. Try to feed and rest through to Thursday and then on to the other female the following Friday. My females both stopped feeding as it got cooler but started slamming food once they were bred.
When ever I introduce the male to the females cage, I witness her urinating more then usual. Is this normal breeding behavior? I generally witness locks(or almost locks) within the next day or 2. What I want to know is whether I should clean up like I usually do, or leave the cage a little messy?
Thanks in advance

Totally normal, let them be and simply clean when you separate the pair.

I leave my girls alone when they are blue. They may or may not be willing to lock up, but I feel like it adds unnecessary stress. I just stick them back into the rotation once they shed.

It is up to you Che. I still introduce even when the female goes in shed. Sometimes they will lock and sometimes they won't.

Thanks alot for the responses guys.. My first time so i haven't quite figured out things yet.

Re: Breeding Help Please
Hey Guys
So I haven't been on the forum in a while..
On the 30th November my female gave me 5 healthy eggs. Totaling over +-400 grams. They have been incubated at 31.5 degrees Celsius.
I candled the eggs today at day 39. As this is my first time breeding I am unsure if this looks normal or not.. Getting eager and very anxious so I just want to make sure that all looks good.
Have a look at the pictures please. And tell me whether these look normal for their age etc..

In some of the shots i almost feel like towards the bottom i can see pattern. Is this possible or am I seeing things?
Thank you in advance

The eggs look good they have good veins so no problems there! The things your seeing at the bottom are the babies me personally I can never see pattern but I do see the babies move when I candle
