    Picked up a rescue bp
I picked up a very large female bp that was dropped off at a local owned pet shop. They called me and asked if I was interested in taking her, which of course I was. Despite of all the scars all over her she is in great health and super tame. Put her on the scale and she is 1700 grams!

Right now she is in a 41 qt tub with a dog water bowl but I plan to get her a 90 qt today because she is so big. Do you think that would be a good size for her?

I only have one pic of her right now but I will be taking more tonight and adding them.

This is her, I have yet to name her.

    Excellent job on the rescue!

Most folks I know keep even their largest females in 41 qt tubs. Not sure you need to move her to anything larger.

Oh ok, I wasn't sure because the water bowl takes up a bit of room n I don't know if I could fit a hide in there that she would fit into lol. I've heard hides aren't necessary in tubs but it's a clear tub and thought she might like one.

I keep my 2600g girl in a 41qt and she does fine. Remember, they like snug places. I'd go without a hide and see if she eats fine for you. If not, add one!

    Congrats on your new girl!

    Just curios,
What makes it a rescue? Looks pretty healthy to me.

The reason I call her a rescue is because she was left in front of the pet shop that called me. They didn't have the room or supplies to take care of her. She has scars all over her from bad sheds and rat attacks.

There is also some fresh cuts on her sides and belly, not sure from what but I taking her in tomorrow to my vet to get her all checked out. The pet shop wasn't going to spend the money to get her looked at.. Didn't ask what they would have done with her if I didn't take her but I really didn't want to know.

Maybe her size and scarring suggests she was being given live prey too large for her to manage pretty early on? Just a thought. Hope the vet trip goes well, if nothing else he'll say she's plump.
