    My ball looks funny...
Hi all! I have a ball, he will be 2 July 19th. Today I noticed that his scales look funny. I don't think it is scale rot, I googled pics of those. Nothing on his underside, but his scales on top look really dried out and dull. There are a few mising from his last shed that was bad and some of the scales look like they have scratches on them. Camera is not working right so I can't get any good pics. Any idea what this could be? Does he need to see the vet? Thanks!

It's really impossible to say without pictures. How long ago was the last shed ? Could it be he's getting ready for another?

As Gale has said its impossible to tell without a camera. But it sounds like hes getting ready for another shed and your humidity might be low. Bump that humidity, and if you can borrow a camera do so.

His last shed was maybe close to two months ago? Maybe, but I just have never seen him get so dry/dull looking before a shed. He's not acting odd and ate just fine yesterday.

    Thanks
I will bump up the humidity and see if that helps.

More than likely just another shed coming. (: no worries for now, but as others have said, we can't tell without pictures.

    I tried
to take pics but they weren't coming out. I have a bad camera lol. He is soaking in his water right now. Hopefully it is another shed. He is my first snake, was never a snake person lol. But as with any of my animals, I freal when I notice something different even if minor.

I tried my best to get pics but it is still somewhat hard to see. I also noticed when taking the pics he is real jumpy/sensitive when I touch him and he never used to be like that. I've never posted pics here so hope this works...

The scarring to the left was from his last shed but the discoloring and "scratch" marks were not there...

That "weird" part on his scales looks like its left over bad shed from his last one. The old shed will constrict and get stuck on when it's left on. Not a big deal at all but it sounds like you are having some humidity issues. Keep a really good watch on the humidity and make sure he has a good shed this time round. The stuck shed will shed off with the new one and he'll be good as new.
