This would make a great gag gift for my son, the arachnophobe.

:rofl:That's funny, I feel like I would do the same thing for my best friend, who is also an arachnophobe. When I brought up the fact that I have pet spiders, she visibly shuddered lmaoo.

They're awfully cute, but be prepared for SCREAMS when some people see you wearing one.

My (late) mom was very arachnophobic, & one time (as a teen) I put a small plastic multi-colored "bug" -not a spider, & it was red-green-yellow- nothing realistic looking at all- on her bed. She really flipped out! Way over the top compared to what I expected- oops! (she had no sense of humor at all on that stuff) She turned out to be pretty comfortable with snakes though.

 Sounds like my mom lol. She hates the fact that I've got two spoods in the house. Unlike yours, she despises snakes as well.

Yeah, you've got an uphill battle. But sometimes learning about things can ease phobias- so maybe there's hope for her anyway.

I couldn't grow up with arachnophobia- I had to empty the vacuum after my mom would suck up spiders with it- haha! "But mom, they're dead & dust now?" "GO empty the vacuum!"
How nice that she didn't mind if they "got" me? :confusd: LOL- phobias aren't rational. And I remember one place we lived- there was a basement with lots of spiders, & unfortunately that's where the laundry was too. She would grab the only thing handy for defense- a can of spray starch- & she'd starch them to the wall! She couldn't remove them either- poor little spider 'statues'- :D

Haha, we live in the middle of nowhere and there are constantly spiders in the house so my mom is always yelling for me to get the spiders out.

My bedroom and animal room is in my basement, so I've kind of had to accept that my eight-legged friends aren't going anywhere. Interestingly, I've noticed a major shift in the dominant spider species the last two years I've lived here. Originally it was just cellar spiders, then over time it has gotten to the point where it is only wolf spiders. I also have a lot of house centipedes.

They keep the pest insect population down so at this point I don't mind them too much, except for when I accidentally step on one. Not a fun way to start your morning...

On another note, my boyfriend got over his phobia of centipedes by buying one. I'm not sure why he did it, all I know is we went to a reptile show and I was getting supplies and when I turned around he was holding it in a cup. We named her Princess.
