The elusive Elysium (2019 Sharp Blizzard)
Does anyone remember when I said that Q was going to be my last snake? No? Good, me neither. :D

Everyone, meet Elysium, a 2019 Sharp Blizzard (Sharp Albino RDR Black-Eyed Anery). He was produced by Kevin Hasley in the UK, and had to travel a long way to reach me in sunny California. The first set of photos is from Kevin, and the second set is my own quick pics from his arrival day, just before he went into his quarantine enclosure to rest up from his trip.

The search for the right Blizzard was an adventure in itself, and the international shipping process also had me on tenterhooks, but now he’s finally home, and it was entirely worthwhile. Just look at those big ruby-red eyes! I’m over the moon.

Oh man, I didn't actually request for photos of the parents from Kevin, but I can definitely ask him! He did tell me the pairing, which was Sharp Sunglow het RDR x Motley double het Blizzard.

Wow, I didn't know your Medusa was also from Kevin! She is a such a beauty. And I agree, Kevin was just fantastic the whole way through - and SO patient with all my fretful questions from across the pond, haha.

Thank you, jmcrook and dakski! I'm just itching to take more photos of him, but I'm trying my best to hold off until after he's had more time to adjust.

Not both parents, but Kevin was able to send me a picture of the Sharp Sunglow het RDR sire to this little fellow.

    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...WfrZ7Rew=w2400

And a bonus photo (albeit an unimpressive one with poor lighting) of Elysium in his quarantine tub.

I just picked up a red pastel sharp albino 66% het RDR BEA produced by kevin in 2019. It seems all of his boas are amazing! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4c0825e194.jpg

Just a few update photos of Elys! (From how pristine he looks, you'd never guess that he just took a massive, malodorous dump that I had to clean up off-screen before taking these pictures ...)

Don't let the "living statue" appearance in these pictures fool you; this little guy still wiggles up a storm when I initially bring him out from his enclosure. He's definitely getting better with handling over time, though. I've also been working him up to mostly small photo moments for now, just in the familiar safety - and limited lighting - of the reptile room. With that in mind, please forgive the generally uninteresting props, haha! (The first picture, for example, is just using my sweater as a backdrop color.)

Amazing! The contrast between him and "Q" is amazing! Both incredible snakes, but polar opposites. If you knew you were getting both of them, you could have named them Yin and Yang!

I've never really been into solid colored snakes too much as I really like pattern and contrast. However, after seeing this guy and Q, I just don't know anymore.

    Amazing animals. Just great looking.

Thank you so much, Dave! While they may not have the matched pair of names, a yin-yang themed photoshoot could still be a possibility for them in the future. ;) And while I do like the solid colors for some snakes, I love seeing really cool patterns too, so in that regard, I live vicariously through seeing other people's amazing snakes, including yours, haha.

Thank you! I was originally considering a Blizzard from a more recent litter (from the same breeder, Kevin Hasley), but when Kevin showed me this boy, I was impressed by how beautiful and completely patternless he was. It was love at first sight, haha!

The baby Blizzards from the newer litters, which had some faint pattern, were pretty cute too, though. I'll probably see if I can find and share the photos of them that Kevin sent me.

Thank you! Of course I do the same with your guys as I’ve said.

There are some great looking boas on this site. Lots of eye candy and temptation.

A photo, courtesy of their breeder Kevin Hasley, of the young Blizzards from the 2020 litter that I was originally considering. If memory serves, the upper two in this picture are males, and the one at the bottom is a female. All gorgeous little babies!

    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...g1qBPjnQ=w2400

And here are a couple of photos Kevin sent me to show one of the 2020 baby Blizzard males, side-by-side with the 2019 Blizzard male he made available. That 2019 Blizzard boy blew me away, and ultimately came home to become my Elysium. :D
