Totally adorable snake! "Hello, & welcome, Freckles"! :D (totally my nickname, nothing you're stuck with for him, lol)

Thank you all! I’ll probably use this as his progression thread.
He’s a sweet boy so far, I’m very surprised I didn’t get tagged the other day lol but he is settling in quite well.
I have him in a 40inx15inx15in cage with a deep heat projector and uvb bulb. He hasn’t hid at all yet, which is surprising to me but I think he’s just taking his time exploring

He is 4 months old and I’d say he’s just over 2 ft and 325g. He took a f/t rat for me last night without any issues.
I am still debating the name lol

He looks so curious & outgoing. Not shy or defensive- :gj: (I usually wait to name snakes until I know them better- even then, I change my mind, lol.)

Re: 1.0 Hypo Granite 100% albino 66% het patternless Burmese python
This little monster is by far my most photogenic snake. He has become a bit spicy lol we had an incident where he tried to strike at me 5x in a row. Luckily I could read him so he missed lol I think i accidentally triggered a feed response- it happened when I was trying to put him back in his enclosure, he got wrapped around my two fingers at the end and I think he thought he had a meal.
He hasn’t tried since that day (a week ago) I am utilizing a hook for getting him out and try to take him out for a few minutes daily.

He seems to like you a little "too" much? I hope more familiarity helps him see the error of his ways.

Nice, can i ask why a UVB bulb though?

Is it just me or does he look noticeably bigger in this pic compared to the previous? Do burms really grow THAT fast??

I’m sure some of it is the angles, but I feel like he has grown for sure. He’s already eating smaller adult rats and they barely leave a bump. My 2 year old boa imperator is on the same prey size lol

Haha yes! I have heard from quite a few people they babies are just feisty, so hopefully he’ll calm down as he gets older.

Thank you! I am trying to get all my reptiles on uvb and provide various options for basking. I know it’s not a necessity for snakes, but I’ve seen some behavior changes in a few others I’ve done it for, so it’s an attempt to offer more temperature and light gradients/ options. I wanted to put a day bulb in as well but the cage is too small and it gets way too hot, so it’ll go in the next one.

Re: 1.0 Hypo Granite 100% albino 66% het patternless Burmese python
It’s been a while since I posted, we had a family tragedy in January that shook life up, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to spend much extra time with the reptiles.
This little guy is still growing like crazy, was over 500g when I weighed him 2 weeks ago. He’s still untrustworthy, and has struck at the glass, but not again when I’ve taken him out.
He just had a meal and as always, is looking adorable. Decided to name him Ivan… so if he’s bad he’ll be Ivan the Terrible and if he’s good he’ll be Ivan the Great.

Congrats on that reptile ! I always wanted a granite Burmese python and I must say a little sad that I don’t. I must say that the het albino and patternless are pluses for sure. :salute:

One more because I think he’s the cutest.
He’ll be upgrading to a 4x2x2 in another month or two.
