I am so sorry for you dear. It must be devastating to have to deal with this. In a small way I feel your pain. My long awaited fire clutch last year was affected by a temp spike in my incubator. I had a number of babies born deformed, and eventually had to euthanize two of them. Then my pied clutch had the same thing happen, only they were already hatched. All 5 suffered heat related damage, thankfully it was only permanent in one of them.

My heart goes out to you, much like you, it was an accident. But like you, it was my fault. If I wasn't so lazy and cheap, I'd have had a decent thermostat on my incubator and it never would have happened. But we live and we learn. You can bet my new incubator won't do the same thing. Just like I can bet your AC won't do this again.

Although you have already had a number of offers to replace your lost animals, I have a really nice male vanilla hatchling sitting at about 350 grams if you are interested. It's not a lot, but I would like very much for you to have him if you have a use for him.

Words are never enough in these situations, and this community clearly knows how to go the extra mile. The generosity shown here literally brought me to tears. I'm glad you have these amazing people behind you and I'm terribly sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear about this: I, too, can't express how awful you must feel. :( I hope your babies will pull through.

I'm so sorry, man. This is my worst fear with a large collection of snakes, the worst thing that could happen. I can somewhat relate, a similar sort of thing happened to us with our rat shed last summer, the surge malfunctioned and the AC shut off. We lost all of our rats, some we considered pets and were very attached to.
Don't blame yourself at all, there's no way you could have foreseen it and you would have prevented it if you had.

You know Wes, I've been thinking a lot about you today. And I have made a decision. Offers of hatchlings are terrific, but loosing breeding size snakes is a different story, and females take years to grow big enough to replace the ones you lost.

So, I have made up my mind. I am offering you my 1000 gram pastel female if you want her. She's not the most spectacular snake out there, but she is pretty sweet. Lots of blushing. She's a little small to breed right now, but it wouldn't take her long to make weight. She eats like an elephant, and I'm not exaggerating. So think about it, and if you's like I can take you some photos of her. I'm sure I can come up with the shipping finds if I try, and she would be the first step back on the road to breeding for you.

I wish I could offer help in snakes, but I live in Canada, and it's over $800 to ship to the states :(

Gale, that's awesome and really sweet of you!

Gale, that is so kind of you. You are a really caring person. Thank you for being you.

I would totally donate and help, if I had any. But this will be my first year breeding. :(
