I barely feed mine anything but the grass they forage for and they still put on nice growth and are solid as a rock. I used to feed a bunch of mazuri, but now they would go through a bag a week which gets pretty expensive. One of mine has a split scute as well. I have heard it is from being incubated too hot so they are almost always females when they have the extra scute. Good luck with your torts.

Thanks John. I do intend to ween mine off of the Mazuri chow once I get the full sized final pen completed. Also, while they are small, I wanted to keep them on Mazuri at least every other day to help with growth. But, I plan on spending a good bit of money on a well planted garden variety for them in the big pen, and figure they will do just fine on grasses alone when they get older.

Not right now Bro. I pretty much like everything. I am not big on lizards, so don't expect to see any of those (we had a dragon once, but it wasn't my thing). We will probably add a few other snake species this year, and I definitely want to get some Gilas or Beadeds (the only lizards we will get), and a couple species of venomous stuff in a few years. Also want to add some Indian Stars or Radiateds in a couple years.
