    Whoever told you that is dead wrong. In awhile you'll have a black beetle crawling around.

    I did it for a bit for my leopard gecko, but I couldn't handle the smell that the beetles make when they get scared, it's really icky. It definitely worked though, I used a bead sorter with air holes drilled in the lid to separate the larva, and it worked like a charm.

    Another tip for zophobas - move your beetles to a new container every couple weeks. It's really useful having worms of similar size together when you go to harvest.
