    1st Feeding - Hatchlings
So my hatchlings have had their first shed and I picked them up some rodents for their first meal.

Do they take a while to eat from when the rodent is first introduced? They don't seem to really know what is going on, lol.

It can take a bit for them to eat, yes. I'd suggest feeding at night, in their tubs.

The best info I've found for starting hatchlings comes from Adam:

I used these guidelines to get my babies started last year and had no trouble with any of them.

    Good luck with your babies!

I feed overnight. 4 out of 5 of mine took their first meals the night of their first shed. I do use harmless live rat pinkies/fuzzies, though.. anything bigger, or a mouse with its eyes open and teeth, I would not leave in overnight personally.
